An ombudsman is chosen by the Joint Doctoral Committee outside of the academic staff involved in the program among well-recognized scientific independent personalities.
The Ombudsman facilitates communication when conflict arises among students, faculty members, administrative persons, and service offices.
The current EDEEM ombudsman is Professor Bernard Monjardet from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
